Send Your Daughter to the GenHERation Summer Leadership Series 2015

GenHERation is coming to a city near you! GenHERation is a female empowerment network for high school girls that provides them the opportunity to work with national corporations and nonprofit organizations to develop advocacy campaigns that address community issues. GenHERation is the inaugural recipient of the President’s Engagement Prize created by Dr. Amy Gutmann at the University of Pennsylvania. This award provides graduating seniors with $150,000 to develop innovative projects that have the potential to change the world. This summer GenHERation is visiting 10 cities across North America to hold leadership workshops for high school girls and rising college freshmen, including:
  • 7/21: Toronto, Ontario @ MaRs Discovery District from 6:30-9 PM
  • 7/23: Chicago, Illinois  @ Serendipity Labs from 6:30-9 PM
  • 7/27: Sunnyvale, California @ Yahoo! Headquarters from 2-5 PM
  • 7/28: San Francisco, California @ Adobe from 6:30-9 PM
  • 7/30: Los Angeles, California @ The Garland from 6:30-9 PM
  • 8/3: Atlanta, Georgia @ The Atlanta Tech Village from 6:30-9 PM
  • 8/5: Houston, Texas @ Space Center Houston from 6:30-9 PM
  • 8/10: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania @ The University of Pennsylvania from 6:30-9 PM
  • 8/11: New York, New York @ Macy’s Herald Square from 6:30-9 PM
  • 8/13: Washington, D.C. @ American University from 6:30-9 PM
These events will feature more than 50 female executives from a variety of companies, including EY, Adobe, Yahoo!, Macy’s, Forbes, Mashable, OWN, and Seventeen Magazine. They will also be awarding $20,000 in scholarships and additional funding for girls to launch their own ventures through their Social Innovation Challenge.



Natalia, a high school junior from Philadelphia, believes that “GenHERation is vital for young women in our community because it provides them with the confidence to make their dreams a reality. From listening to the stories and knowledge of the brilliant leaders in our community, I walked away with a new outlook on myself, a better determination to achieve my goals, and a sense of hope for the future women leaders of our world.”

The cost of attendance is $20, which includes a t-shirt and gift bag.
