Five Fab Finds: Handcrafted Jewelry We Love

By Joyce Shulman August 4, 2015
In our family, we often say that the reason homemade cookies taste better than store bought is the special ingredient we include in them: love.

The same holds true for jewelry. Sure, we love big blingy pieces from Tiffany and David Yurman, but we adore products made in small batches by people who care. And we recently found five we had to share.

Award-winning author Tessa Shaffer delivers inspiration in hand-crafted jewelry in her Etsy shop at Moonstone Creations. We are mad for the Refuse to Sink necklace ($22) and recently sent it to a young mom battling cancer.

I’m obsessed with the leather bracelets from Wristicuffs. Combining leather in different colors and various metals, these bracelets dress up jeans and a white T like nobody’s business. We love them all, but "Nicole" ($90) caught our eye.

Have you joined the essential oil craze? If so, then the Lotus Charm on Faceted Crystal Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace ($42) from Zoe & Piper is for you. A pretty crystal necklace in pink, blue or white is topped with a diffuser lid to let out the scent of the oil you choose to power you through your day.

Can jewelry inspire adventure? It can if it is original map jewelry designed by Erica Taylor of Paper and Place. Her collection connects people with the places they love. The Compass Wax Seal Charm Necklace ($85) makes us dream of faraway adventures.

This week, we celebrated our daughter’s “gotcha day,” otherwise known as family day. It’s the day we first met the baby girl who would make our family complete. What better way to celebrate than with a gift that makes her feel like a princess? We did it with a Sloane Hair Wrap from the experts at BBT Style. She hasn’t taken it off.
