Macaroni Kid Loves Lilly Pullitzer!

Win a $400 Shopping Spree!

July 5, 2011

Macaroni Kid has teamed up with Lilly Pulitzer, because, well…why wouldn’t we?  For starters, the original Lilly Pulitzer started a business at the ripe age of 21.  With determination, creativity, and a great fashion sense, she built a multi-million-dollar brand out of a simple one-woman juice stand down in Palm Beach.

Like our Publisher Moms, Lilly was a successful, innovative, family-oriented, social butterfly, hyper-involved in her community.   She became well-connected and built a renowned brand from the ground up.  That’s just one of the many reasons we love Lilly!

We couldn’t wait to connect the Macaroni Kid community with this fun, summery label, and it turns out the feeling was mutual!   We bonded over the unbelievable power that women infuse in this world, with a little help from their girlfriends and the love and support of their families, women are unstoppable!  While Macaroni Kid grew from one local newsletter to 365 in just two years and continues to grow by 15% a month, Lilly Pulitzer’s brand lives on in our wardrobes, memories, and even our kid’s closets.

Our Publisher Moms coast to coast could not have been more excited about our collaboration with Lilly.  Check out what Jill, our Plymouth-Golden Valley, MN Publisher Mom had to say:

“I grew up wearing “Lillys.”  I was born and raised in Palm Beach, FL and my mom always dressed me in the classic shift dress as a child - I am pretty sure that we occasionally had matching ones. I later continued to wear Lilly…also “The Official Preppy Handbook” said it was a must!  I just love dressing up my little girl, Taylor, in the fun, snappy shift dresses!  ...nothing better than walking around barefoot at the beach in a cute dress & some Lilly attitude.  :-)”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!  Lilly Pulitzer is not only a beachwear favorite, the brand represents memories and a generational connection with our moms and daughters as well.  As trends constantly change and evolve, Lilly Pulitzer doesn’t seem to go out of style, and neither does family fun.

So, what’s Lilly up to these days?  They’ve been celebrating their ‘Lilly Loves the Arts’ theme; this year, their prints are inspired by different styles of art; from music to fine art, and of course, they’ve always got the cheery pink and green patterns to brighten your day!  Kiley from Macaroni Kid HQ, a huge Lilly fan herself, got the lowdown on this summer’s ‘latest and greatest’ prints.  Their “Cherry Begonias” print was actually inspired by Grateful Dead hits!  And for all of our blue-eyed Moms out there, Lilly’s “Blue Eye Girl” print was actually created out of a little jealousy for Van Morrison’s tribute to brown-eyed girls!  What a cool idea – the print team over at Lilly actually took a pen and paper, played their favorite tunes, and let the music take them away!   To say the least, Lilly’s team is creative, modern, and fun!  Three more reasons to Love ‘em!

We know that Macaroni Kid is about family fun and Lilly P allows us to enjoy all that summer has to offer in style, that’s for sure!  Here’s your chance to get involved to win a Lilly shopping spree!  Macaroni Kid and Lilly Pulitzer really want to know: solid?
