S'mores! & Bowling!

This week has National S'mores and National Bowling Day!

August 7, 2012
Alright, we get it, there are a lot of silly days out there...August 8 is "Sneak a Zucchini on Your Neighbors Porch Day." Don't believe me? Google it. But enough silliness, there are two great days this week.

First is National S'mores day, August 10th, 2012. When I found out I thought it was a stunt concocted by Hershey's, but it's not. (But, no matter what your chocolate preference, a real S'mores should only be made with Hershey's chocolate.) Summer just isn't summer without the kids roasting S'mores. And one of my great pleasures is introducing someone who's never had one to their first taste of crispy toasted marshmallow chocolaty graham crunchy goodness.

In case you have been deprived, a S'more is simply a fire toasted marshmallow, sandwiched between two graham crackers with some Hershey's chocolate in the middle. It's a gooey delight that's almost as much fun to make as it is to eat (almost).

And what better way to work off a few S'mores than with some Bowling! Saturday August 11th is National Bowling Day! Go to gobowling.com and print coupons for free bowling across the U.S. Beat the heat, enjoy some air-conditioning and go bowling...for free.

So this week, you have Macaroni Kid homework, pick any two of the three "days" above to celebrate, and leave a comment below...hmm S'mores or Zucchini...
