Join MK in supporting Cookies for Kids Cancer

Each year in the US nearly 13,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Roughly one in four will not survive their battle.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The goal is to shed light on types of cancers that affect children and the issues that arise when a family receives a diagnosis. And the goal is to raise funds for research to find ways to cure and end all types of pediatric cancers.

One organization that has demonstrated a unique and passionate commitment to the cause is Cookies for Kids' Cancer. Their mission statement says they "are committed to raising funds to support research for new and improved therapies for pediatric cancer, the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 18. Through the concept of local bake sales, Cookies for Kids' Cancer provides the inspiration and support for individuals, communities, and businesses to help fight pediatric cancer."

You may have seen one of more of their many fund-raising bake sales in your local edition of Macaroni Kid. We want you to take a moment next time you see them mentioned and see how you can help. Whether you go and buy some cookies, or visit their webpage and look at one of the several ways you can help, know that your support will help a child somewhere, some time overcome the challenges they did not ask for, but are now facing.

You can find a calendar of bake sales here, and be sure to check your local edition of Macaroni Kid for a bake sale near you.

Have your say
