A True Review from Macaroni Mom Megan on her ecomom Shopping Experience!

I’ve always been fairly eco-conscious in my buying habits, but having a child made me that much more so – BPA, parabens, pesticides, lead – everything began to freak me out!  I scoured every product review on major online retail sites before buying anything - from burp clothes to dish soap - and found I just had to trust what other parents and companies claimed.  Eventually, I’d find what I needed, but I always had to dig deep and order from a variety of sources to cover our family’s needs.

Discovering ecomom has been a breath of fresh air - and one I can inhale with confidence and ease!  I originally logged on to the ecomom site expecting the usual offerings of most modern parenting product sites, which tend to be limited and baby-centered.  I found an incredible array of products for my kid, for me, and for my home - all rigorously researched and tested by ecomom.  Ecomom deeply examines each and every product they offer, digging deeper than the basic “organic” and “toxin-free” labels.  Smart packaging, Fair Trade production, innovative design, great value...the list goes on and on.  Every item is inspected from every angle, many in ways I hadn’t even considered in my own searches for great, responsible products.

Ecomom.com is beautifully designed and easy to navigate, a real accomplishment due to the sheer number of products and information the site offers.  The general categories include: Babies, Children, Mom & Maternity, Women, Household, and Parties & Gifts, leading me through everything from lotions to luggage, allergy remedies to arts-and-crafts.  During my recent ecomom visit, I ordered eco-friendly gifts for my five year-old daughter, supplies for her birthday party, shampoo, a pretty wall-hanging for her room, and a new thermos.  Oh, and I didn’t check out without a little something for me – a new hair product for mom!  Although it was a range of products, I found everything I was looking for fast, and was able to complete my order within minutes.  That’s definitely a plus any busy mom can embrace!

By far, my favorite part of ecomom is their “every order feeds a hungry child” campaign.  It’s simple: every single order feeds one child for one day.  So, each time I order from ecomom.com, ecomom provides one of the 16 million children from across the United States who do not have access to adequate amounts of food with the same high-quality, organic, and nutritious foods that ecomom offers paying customers.  Ecomom works with their trusted brand partners and local organizations across the country to provide this emergency assistance to families.  This makes me feel even better about shopping!

Ecomom has proven to me that they embrace a true responsibility, both to their customers in promoting ethical and healthy products and high-quality customer service, and to the greater good by helping those in need.  As they say at ecomom, “it’s all good.”  I know you’ll agree with this green mama!

Try for yourself!  ecomom is offering a special discount code for Macaroni Kid readers only!  Use code “MAC15” by 11/15/2012 to receive $15 off your order!  (Valid on any order $30 or more!)
