Braces? Not What You Remember.

December 4, 2012

It's a whole new world with the Damon System from Ormco

Taking my son to the orthodontist for braces brought back a flood of memories.  Giant metal bands around my teeth, rubber bands holding things together, a few days of pain after each tightening, in short nothing pleasant.  So when it was time for his braces, we did our homework and learned about the Damon System from Ormco.

I'm not a dentist or hip to the details of what makes these braces so great, but I can tell you my son adjusted in about two or three days and has been pain, and even discomfort free, since then.  After the follow visit, when the wires were changed, he had zero pain or discomfort.  That's right, zero. I remember days of soreness after each tightening and am so happy he does not have to "endure" his braces, merely wear them.

While doing my research, I had the chance to meet "Soul Surfer" and Damon patient Bethany Hamilton.  It was great to meet this remarkable young woman, who has turned a tragic shark attack into a mission to demonstrate the power of determination.  She is a huge fan of the Damon System and a great tribute to their efficacy.  Take a look at the before and after shot in the video below.

So, when it's time for your child's braces, ask around, see who has experienced the difference.  I'm shocked when I see kids enduring so much discomfort with their older style braces for no reason.  Check out their site for the details and to find an orthdontist near you.
