Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great.

A Delighful New Book by Bob Shea.

"Compare and Despair"
I first heard this phrase when I was in my 20's. It means if you compare yourself to others, you will despair at the thought of those who have more, look better, etc. At some point in our lives we’ve all experienced a classic case of envy.

Morphing envy into admiration is the basic premise in this visually appealing and entertaining new picture book from Bob Shea, Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great. Ever since Unicorn moved into the neighborhood, Goat has been feeling out of sorts. Goat thought his bike was cool—until he saw that Unicorn could fly to school! Unicorn is such a show-off, how can Goat compete? But when Goat and Unicorn share a piece of pizza, Goat learns that being a unicorn might not be all it's cracked up to be. And when Unicorn shows his admiration for Goat, it looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. For a fun introduction to the silly characters of Goat and Unicorn check out the video below!

Unicorn thinks He’s Pretty Great is a well-written children’s tale about acceptance and not judging others before getting to know them. The glittery cover and the bright graphics really pop on the page.  It's truly a treat to read to your kids and a great reminder, if not introduction, to a valuable life lesson.
