Being Bold with Folgers at BlogHer

Sponsored

By Joyce Shulman July 2, 2013
Earlier this week, I had the great pleasure of supporting Folgers at BlogHer, a huge annual blogger conference.  Thousands of people came through and had the opportunity to meet the Folgers’ team and sample their coffees, which included an array of flavored coffees (cinnamon swirl, hazelnut, coconut cream pie, caramel drizzle, vanilla biscotti and more) and my favorite, Folgers’ Black Silk, which is dark, rich, smooth and “bold.”

To further share the “be bold” message, Folgers asked me to find seven “bold bloggers” each of whom would win a fantastic prize. I took my responsibility seriously.  What is bold?  Can you be bold and “smooth?”  Do I need to catch someone in the act of doing something bold, or can bold be more subtle than that?

What I learned is that, like good coffee, bold comes in many forms.  There was the recently divorced mom wearing the world’s boldest boots. The mama attending BlogHer with her six-week-old baby in a sling.  The mom who never considered herself “bold” but who (when pressed) shared the story of how she took her hobby – blogging -- and transformed it into a vehicle to support her entire family when her husband unexpectedly lost his job. The mom who spends her days fighting extreme, global poverty for ONE. I loved meeting these bold women, hearing their stories and having the opportunity to share some love from the nation’s number one coffee brand with them.

What makes you bold?  What’s the boldest thing you’ve ever tried? What is the bold thing you’d love to try?

Perhaps you need to be fueled by bold coffee to try the next bold thing! If so, I suggest starting you day with a big mug of Folgers Black Silk and checking out Folgers’ Facebook page for all the coffee news.
