When we started Macaroni kid, we didn't know quite what to expect. It was an idea born out of the need to share info about what's happening for kids and their families in our community. Once we were up and running, and we were being swamped with "thank yous" from grateful parents, and ads were beginning to be sold, and we were being offered discounted travel and free tickets . . . we realized it was a "Wobby."
A Wobby is a cross between work and a hobby. It's a hobby because it's fun interesting and provides a useful resource for our friends and our community. It's work because we sell ads and enjoy the perks that come along with being the publisher of a family-oriented newsletter and website!
Work + Hobby = Wobby.
