Wrap-E-Soothe Your Child's Eczema Away

Macaroni Review

By Melissa Alcorn May 6, 2014
Have you ever heard the idiom "smooth as a baby's bottom"? Every time I hear it I can't help but think that there is nothing smooth about my baby's bottom. Her bottom, along with her legs, upper arms and belly are often rough and dry, symptoms of her eczema.

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is the most common chronic skin disorder in infants and children worldwide, afflicting up to 20% of children in the U.S. and as many as 6.4 million children under 7. The most common symptoms include thickened, cracked, or scaly skin with intense itching.

One of the most pediatrician recommended treatments for severe eczema is known as wet wrap therapy. Traditionally this involves covering the inflamed area with wet dressings, such as gauze strips, to hydrate the skin and prevent scratching. The problem? Getting an itchy, irritable and wiggling child to sit still long enough to be wrapped. A solution to that problem? AD RescueWear's Wrap-E-Soothe.

Wrap-E-Soothe is an amazing new line of ready-to-wear wet wrap therapy garments that make treating eczema quick and easy. First, find which size/type you need for your child on the AD RescueWear website. There are Wrap-E-Soothe Suits for children age 6 months to 3 years, Wrap-E-Soothe Tops and Bottoms for kids age 4-5 years (both the suits and tops have with built-in fold over hand covers to prevent scratching), and Wrap-E-Soothe Sleeves or Gloves for problem areas on arms, legs, hands and feet. After bath time, dampen the Wrap-E-Soothe product with warm water and slip it onto your child (you can also add the step of applying your favorite ointment first). Top it off with dry pajamas and that's it.

We noticed a big difference in the feel of our daughter's skin after just one use of the Wrap-E-Soothe Top and Bottom. Sure, it took some bribery of a second bedtime book and extra snuggles to get her to keep the damp suit on, but after a while she didn't even notice she was wearing it. In the morning, her skin was no longer red and raw, plus it felt softer than it ever has before.

It's no surprise that AD RescueWear obtained the National Eczema Association's Seal of Acceptance with a 5-star rating, the organization's highest. You'll also find great videos with step by step instructions on how to use the products for both dry and wet wrap therapy.
