All Hail King Julien: New Netflix Episodes

By Melissa Hucal May 5, 2015
Winding down from a busy week and ready to kick back with the family? Tune in to Netflix for five all new episodes of the Netflix Original Series All Hail King Julien (based on the characters from the Madagascar movie franchise).

All Hail King Julien debuted on Netflix in December when King Julien first encountered some crazy new adventures in the jungles of Madagascar, accompanied by some fun (and equally lovable!) new characters.

We had the opportunity to preview a few of the new episodes earlier this week so that we can let you know just how much your family will love them, so we thought we would give you the perspective of the 8-year-old, the 11½-year-old and the mom.

From the 8-year-old
100%. I love it. It has a great theme song. King Julien is really funny in the new episodes. It was 10 out of 10. And kids should watch it.

From the 11½ -year-old
I give this show 4 stars because kids ages 7 and up will have a good laugh, especially with the new ones. Overall it’s a good show. I like this show and other kids will be entertained by the humor, excitement and adventures of King Julien and his friends. #LoveTheThemeSong (Note from the mom: I didn’t make this up. He really created a hashtag!)

From the mom
Maybe it’s just me, but I am finding it harder and harder lately to find TV shows that the whole family can watch together. For families with school-age children, All Hail King Julien is a step in the right direction. Sure, there’s a little bit of toilet humor, but those are the scenes where my boys laughed the hardest. And there’s nothing better than hearing your kiddos let out genuine belly laughs!

Overall, watching these episodes provided a great escape for us that we could enjoy as a family. And, boy, could this momma relate to the despair that King Julien and friends were feeling when, in one of the episodes, they discovered that there was NO MORE COFFEE! (Just typing those words makes me cringe!) Want to know how they recovered from that situation? Tune in with your family this weekend to check it out!
