Crowdfunding Platform that Specifically Supports Moms

Bring your great idea to life with Mumzy

July 7, 2015
Have you ever had a mommy-inspired moment that lead to a great idea for a product or business? If you’re a mom, chances are the answer is ‘yes,’ because being a mom changes the way we think. Motherhood inspires us to hone our creative problem solving skills, expertly adapting to everyday obstacles that our family members encounter. We multi-task like champions. We creatively fix, make, bake, work, clean, play and teach throughout the day. At some point, a brilliant epiphany might ping into our mind – an idea for a product that fills an everyday gap or an entrepreneurial vision that improves home life or the surrounding community. If you’ve ever had a dazzling idea, whether it be a product, non-profit or innovative concept, you can bring it to life with Mumzy

Mumzy is a new online community for moms that offers the potential to get project ideas financially backed through donation-based funding, a practice known as crowdfunding. In addition, this mom-driven site is rich with marketing resources, business support and an opportunity to find people who will contribute feedback about your project.

Crowdfunding is an effective and proven method for bringing a concept to life. This quickly growing, multi-billion dollar industry is expected to grow to around 93 billion dollars by 2025, according to a study supervised by World Bank1.  Thanks to the reach of the internet, people around the world can collaborate on social network sites like Indiegogo, Kickstarter and Mumzy to make their visions come true or help another person’s dream become reality. In fact, 15 million people view Indiegogo each month2 and the site has successfully funded thousands of campaigns that either strive to make a difference in the world or involve an innovative idea. While perusing their site, I saw dozens of current campaign projects related to community, art, music, technology and non-profits that had received over $12,000 in pledges and the campaigns hadn’t even ended yet. Many projects have raised more than $100,000 and one of Indiegogo’s most successfully funded campaigns raised over 12 million dollars!

What’s equally impressive is that Kickstarter – an industry leading crowdfunding platform – has funded over 87,000 projects since the company was created and nearly 9 million people have pledged funding to Kickstarter
campaigns3Yes, you read all of those numbers right. It’s easier than ever to find donation-based investors and a hard-working person with previously limited resources can now bust through the barriers to bring a project to completion.

And, while crowdfunding platforms have become increasingly popular over the past several years due to sites like Indiegogo and Kickstarter, Mumzy is unique because it is the only crowdfunding platform that offers a support system specifically to moms. Mumzy works past the common barriers that prevent moms from striving for their dreams, including funding, lack of time and resources by addressing each of those issues. Even the busiest mom will find it easier to start her dream project and bring it to life. This extremely user-friendly site makes it simple to market a concept to potential funders by adding a project description, some pictures, perhaps a video clip and/or links.

If you’ve got a creative idea that you think will help improve some aspect of life, or a desire to support another mom with her mommy-inspired idea, join the Mumzy movement and start working on this goal today.
