Meet the Wild Kratts

Premiering on PBS Kids January 3

By Joyce Shulman December 15, 2010

PBS Kids has once again done what it does best: create fresh kids' programming that captivates, entertains and educates.  All at the same time.

The Wild Kratts, premiering January 3, is an animated series based on the adventures of real life "creature adventurers" Chris and Martin Kratt.

Wild Kratts is an animated extension of the adventures of these two brothers, taking viewers along on their missions to locate, identify, and save wild animals across the globe.  Along the way, they encounter villains, make friends, fly, swim, swing, climb and learn countless lessons from their animal friends.

We had the pleasure of screening two episodes of The Wild Kratts with our five-year-old daughter, whose tastes lean more toward pink puffy skirts than toward science or adventure.  After watching both episodes in a row, she said "I want to watch more."  We told her we only had two.  She hesitated for a moment and said, "okay, I'll watch them both again."  And she did.
