Halloween – the perfect time to chase your dream career

For many kids, Halloween is an opportunity for them to dress up like whatever they want to be when they get older. If you’re like us, perhaps you have a future police officer, firefighter, doctor, chef, astronaut or nurse in your home. It is a time when they get to imagine their future and be whatever they want to be – taking the advice that us parents give them all the time.

As a parent, Halloween often loses that imaginative charm, becoming a time when we have to make sure our kids focus on school and don’t eat too much candy. But, what if we tapped into that child-like side of ourselves and started thinking about our career dreams, too?

This got us thinking about our favorite Halloween characters and what they might want to be when they grow up. What would they study if they had the chance to go back to school and chase their dream career at Brightwood College?

Good Witch:
Pharmacy Technician Program

Unlike their more sinister counterparts, good witches use their powers to help people. A good witch would probably want to study to become a pharmacy technician, so they could use their knowledge of potions and mixes to make people feel better.

Dracula:
Dental Assistant Program

With fangs like Dracula’s, it’s a given that he is a stickler for dental hygiene. And in as little as nine months, Dracula could earn his diploma and pursue a career as a dental assistant. Best of all, with day or night classes, Dracula could find a schedule that fits his unique lifestyle.

Superhero:
Medical Assistant Program

Just like superheroes, medical assistants are driven by their passion for helping people. They may be called to take on a variety of tasks as part of a healthcare team, from taking vital signs to performing administrative duties. They are willing to do whatever it takes to help their patients and their teammates.

Frankenstein:
Electrical Technician Program

Who better to study electrical technology than a monster that was brought to life using electricity? At Brightwood College, Frankenstein could be ready to pursue a career as an electrical technician in less than a year.

Okay, so maybe none of these characters are real and they can’t actually go back to school, but… you can! Even between all the craziness of Halloween, busy parents do have the practical option of going back to school to chase that dream career, whether it is within one of the above fields or in one of the numerous other career fields with programs at Brightwood College.
