Spray Parks Around Town

June 6, 2013
I would like to feature a few outdoor spray parks in our area. As the weather gets hotter and summer kicks into full gear I want to make sure you know the 'hot spots' and all the goods...

Water Play Sprayground at Zephyr Park
WaterPlay offers kids a fun and safe way to cool off under fountain jets and falling buckets of water. Located in Zephyr Park at Fourth Street and Fourth Avenue, the 7,000-square-foot sprayground features arches shooting water and soaker cannons. Benches surround the sprayground so parents can supervise their children.

Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. City parks are open from 9 a.m. to dusk. The 34-acre Zephyr Park is located in downtown Zephyrhills and is the site of the Alice Hall Community Center. Park amenities include: five lighted tennis courts, handball courts, fishing, picnic pavilions with tables.

The 3,000-square-foot Kiwanis Sprayground has a non-slip surface, no standing water and is ADA accessible. The fully automatic system offers a fun way to beat the heat as recirculating water sprays, gushes, dumps and pours from a variety of whimsical devices. Kids can dodge a crocodile that shoots water out of its mouth, circle the tumble buckets and dance in and out of the mushroom water shower. The main attraction is “Nessie,” Dunedin’s own version of the Loch Ness Monster, with multiple sprays and an aqua run slide. Parental supervision is required.
