Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights ideas to do with kids in the Madison area. Click the links for all the details. This week the libraries resume storytimes and other arts and free programs, plus:

1.  Glide and hike. Madison Parks starts their "groove and glide" with skating and games near Olbrich Friday, and Aldo Leopold has a bonfire and candlelight hike Saturday [update as of 1/9, the Leopold hike has been moved to 2/17]

2. Madfest juggling. The Madison area jugglers festival runs all weekend with free workshops for kids Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, plus the big show (get tickets) Saturday night.

3. Model trains. Check out the trains  and learn about all the models at the Sun Prairie library Saturday or Sunday

4. Swiss New Year. Make a short trip to New Glarus to learn about the Swiss traditions, with free music and entertainment Saturday.

5. MLK Day Observances. The national holiday is Monday, but there are plenty of observances in Madison and Sun Prairie including a free community dinner Friday, workshops and observances Monday earlier in the day and Monday evening.
