Celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with the New-York Historical Society Museum & Library! Class includes a special hello song, silly dances and games, a storybook reading, and a craft to do after the story.
From New-York Historical Society Museum: It’s Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and we’ll be celebrating all month long by reading about amazing AAPI people and traditions, and by reading stories written by AAPI authors today! One day, Cora asks her mama to teach her to make her very favorite Filipino noodle dish: pancit. In Cora Cooks Pancit, written by Dorina Lazo Gilmore and illustrated by Kristi Valiant, we’ll see how Cora carefully follows each step of the recipe, and even gets to do some of the grown-up cooking jobs! And she does it all while wearing the bright red apron that once belonged to her Lolo, her grandfather! After the story, you can make your own apron, complete with a favorite family recipe, at home!
