From Montgomery County Public Libraries: Learn about the history of Juneteenth observance from a personal perspective of oral historian. Kelly Elaine Navies will discuss the history and significance of Juneteenth from her perspective as an oral historian and someone whose family has observed the holiday for the past 50 years. Kelly Elaine Navies is a Museum Specialist with the Oral History Initiative at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
