From Crayola: Masterpieces are the works we create and the people we become . Today, 13-year-old actress and author Mia Armstrong will read her book, I Am a Masterpiece, an empowering story about inclusivity and growing up with Down Syndrome, something Mia refers to as her superpower, allowing her to see things in a unique way. Through Mia’s storytelling, students will be reminded that they are all masterpieces, as they create their own untraditional self-portraits and superhero capes alongside illustrator Alexandra Thompson.
